1 Fine Mesh Strainer or Cheesecloth
1 Measuring Cups and Spoons
1 Stirring Utensils & Pitcher or container
2 Glasses
- 4 Cup Water
- 1 Cup Birch bark
- 1 Cup Granulated sugar
- 1 TBSP Wintergreen extract
- 1/4 TBSP Vanilla extract
- 1/4 TBSP Citric acid
- Carbonated water
Boil 4 cups of water, simmer birch bark for 15 mins for infusion.
Strain cooled infusion to remove bark.
Heat strained infusion, dissolve sugar for birch bark syrup.
Let syrup cool, add wintergreen & vanilla extracts, optional citric acid.
Mix birch bark syrup with carbonated water (adjust ratio).
Chill in fridge or serve over ice, garnish if desired. Enjoy your birch beer!
